Our Princeton team advanced to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals held in Ames, Iowa May 28-31, 2014. This is the 24th year that the Magic Center Region (made up of nine Central Florida counties) has participated in Odyssey of the Mind and the first time that an Orange County school has advanced. There were 836 teams from all around the world. We are so proud of Amaia Ariail, Hunter Fishel, Oscar Flassig, Emmett Higgins, Carson Long, Lucas Marcet, and Hannah Norato.
Odyssey of the Mind is an International Organization, open to Kindergarten through College Students. Odyssey promotes creative thinking and problem solving in a team setting. Please visit the Odyssey of the Mind
web site for more information. If your student is interested, start forming a team now. You will need an adult or responsible High School student to coach the team of up seven students. Please contact Princeton's Odyssey Coordinator, Charlene Norato, with any questions.
Please come and see our Odyssey of the Mind team perform at our next PTA meeting on Tuesday, May 20th at 6:30pm. These kids have been working on their skit since October. They have performed and came in first in the region and first in the state. They will leave for the World Finals Competition held at Iowa State on June 28th.
The kids will perform at 6:30 in the auditorium and then the PTA meeting will move downstairs to the cafeteria. Click here

Next week (5/5-5/9) is teacher appreciation week. We are having a superhero theme and need your help to show our teachers and staff how much they mean to us and our kids. Your kids will be bringing home a printed "fill-in-the-blank" note that they can decorate and explain what superpower their teacher holds. We ask that your kids work on this over the weekend and bring it in to their teachers on Monday. These thoughtful notes from the kids are what the teachers cherish the most. Throughout the week, you are welcome to send in other treats to your child's teacher if you would like. There are a few organized meals for the teachers during the week. "Souper" lunch on Monday, breakfast on Tuesday and cookies for a snack on Thursday. Please take a moment to go to Volunteer Spot and volunteer to bring the items that we are requesting.
